Mussoorie is quite popular with some of the important and famous travel destinations which can be reached out like Kempty Falls, Nag Tibba, Dhanaulti etc.

Kempty fall

Kempty Falls is popular among the tourists who visit Mussoorie and this cascading waterfall has successfully lured tourists from the very beginning. This place was developed as a tourist spot by John Mekinan in year 1835. The name Kempty is derived from 'Camp-tea', as the Britishers would organize their tea parties here. The water rush down from an altitude of 4,500 feet and splitting further into five showers, the water falls from a height of 40 feet giving the appearance of water jumping and playing on the rocks before falling down. Kempty Falls is located 15kms from Mussoorie on the Chakrata road surrounded by high green mountains and is set at an altitude of 4500ft. The fall offers astonishing view of scattered drops of water falling from the height of 40ft and the waterfall splits into five streams and it looks like that the streams are doing jumping and doing somersault with each other. Bhadraj Temple

It is situated at a distance of 15kms from Mussoorie and is an ideal place for trekking. Bhadraj Temple is located on the extreme western region of Mussoorie and thus offers a splendid view of the Doon Valley, Chakrata ranges and the Jaunsar Bawar area of Garhwal Himalayas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bal Bhadra, brother of Lord Krishna, and is situated atop a hill. Bhadraj temple organizes a fair in the third week of August (Shravan Sankranti) every year. Undoubtedly it is an important event for the locals and they look forward to it, this occasion attracts a lot of visitors as well.

Dhanaulti

Dhanaulti is situated 25kms from Mussoorie amidst thick alpine forests of deodar, rhododendron and oak and it offers an atmosphere of perfect peace & tranquility. Dhanaulti often brings surprise for the tourists as the beauty of Dhanaulti is yet to be explored and is less popular amongst people. The woods, cool environment, scenic valleys, lovely weather and enchanting view of snow capped peaks of majestic Himalayan range makes it an ideal retreat for a relaxed holiday. Dhanaulti is situated on the Mussoorie - Chamba route. Dhanaulti is a Constituency of State Legislative Assembly (MLA). Dhanaulti is situated at an altitude of approximately 2000mts above sea level. Nag Tibba

Nag Tibba is a located around 55 km from Mussoorie. Nag Tibba falls just a few ft shorts from the breathtaking height of 10,000ft. It is the highest peak around the hill resort which is covered by thick alpine forests. It is an ideal spot for trekkers who are in love with nature and its divine beauty and it is also opened for trekkers throughout the year. Surkanda Devi

Surkanda Devi is an ancient temple located near Dhanaulti set at a breathtaking elevation of approximately 10,000 ft or 3030mts above sea level. This temple is dedicated to Shankar's consort - Sati and one can reach there through 2 km easy trek. The trek to Surkanda Devi goes through dense forest rich in varied flora and fauna. The trek affords majestic and unforgettable view of the panoramic snow clad peaks of the splendid Himalayan range. Legend has it that the head of the charred body of Goddess Sati fell here when Lord Shiva was taking her remains along with him after she give her life in the yajna started by her father. Surkhanda Devi Temple has gained significant importance amongst the locals and is frequented by devotees all the year round.

Landour

Landour (also Landaur), a small cantonment town contiguous with Mussoorie, is about 35 km (22 miles) from the city of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Landour is located in the Lower Western Himalayas and it is 1,500 ft (450 m) above Mussoorie. The twin towns of Mussoorie and Landour, together, are a well-known British Raj-era hill station in northern India. Mussoorie-Landour was widely known as the "Queen of the Hills". Landour is a pollution-free zone, and with fresh pure air to breathe, recovery from any stress or disease is superbly fast here. Dehradun

Dehradun is located in the Doon valley, 230 kilometers north of India's capital New Delhi. The Dehradun district is surrounded by the Himalayas in the north, Shivalik Hills in the south, the river Ganga in the east, and the river Yamuna in the west. Kanatal is 35 km from Mussoorie is a small village is an unspoilt and less crowded destination in Uttarakhand. Chamba

Chamba is a small hill town, situated at an altitude of 1676 m, in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand. It is an unexplored, unscathed, serene destination, approximately 67 km from Mussoorie.
